Space for wine and olive oil tourism at the 2023 edition

Riva del Garda (TN), 21 December 2022Winescape, the special area dedicated to wine and wine tourism, is returning to Hospitality - Il Salone dell’Accoglienza, and expanding its offer with olive oil tourism. Italy's leading international trade show in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, to be held in Riva del Garda from 6 to 9 February 2023, will complement the growing number of wineries with ten selected oil mills that share the ability to create tourism through experiences that draw on a region’s cultural, landscape and economic heritage.

Thanks also to the collaboration of organisations such as Slow Food Trentino Alto Adige and Consorzio Vignaioli del Trentino, visitors to Winescape will have the opportunity to make contact with Italian companies whose offers combine wine production and hospitality, including accommodation facilities immersed in vineyards and wine tourism-related services. In addition, following the success of last year's edition, this year Winescape will once again enhance the vast exhibition space with a wine bar reserved for tastings led by professional sommeliers.

Alongside the wineries, there is also an area dedicated to olive oil and tourism, developed in cooperation with Consorzio Turismo dell'Olio EVO IGP, DOP e BIO: olive producers who have been able to leverage their product with an innovative approach to tourism, combining quality and craftsmanship and engaging guests beyond mere tasting.

“Extra virgin olive oil tourism has great expansion potential, similar to that available for wine,” says Giovanna Voltolini, Exhibition Manager at Hospitality. “While the wine tourism sector alone is worth EUR 2.5 billion a year, companies in the olive oil sector that have understood the sector’s growth potential also from a tourism perspective are making major investments. We therefore wanted to expand Winescape by making it even more of a workshop of ideas and a place that provides tools for sector operators who want to expand and diversify their offers towards experiential tourism”.

Over the days of the show, the Winescape Arena will host meetings, debates, presentations and masterclasses with hospitality and catering experts to explore topics related to wine and olive oil tourism.
