Expo Riva Hotel presents the 2019 trends for the Made in Italy food & beverage sector 

The world asks for Italian food & beverage and Expo Riva Hotel, scheduled from 3 through 6 February 2019 at the Exhibition Center of Riva del Garda (TN), responds with a 43rd edition characterized by authenticity.

The year 2019 will see Food & Equipment and Coffee & Beverage, now well-known and very much appreciated theme areas of the fair with more than 16,000 square meters of exhibition space occupied, becoming crowded with companies and big brands that have always been active in the Made in Italy promotion.

"The companies showcasing their food products at Expo Riva Hotel next February are over 200. Such companies have proved capable of transforming quality raw materials into excellent food products meeting the increasingly specific and demanding tastes of modern customers" – states Carla Costa, Head of the Fair Area of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.

In the era of 4.0 gourmands, topics such as organic food, veganism and superfood are now essential aspects even in the hospitality sector. Thus, the large food and beverage companies need to combine their consolidated expertise with innovative production techniques. As a result, the Italian culinary tradition is mixed with algae, seeds and berries that can now be found even in quintessential Italian dishes such as pasta.

As for the food sector, while the innovations promoted by Expo Riva Hotel go hand in hand with the tastes of modern consumers, the beverage sector is witnessing the return of grappa.  A true must-have of the beverages hall, the grappa makes its debut even within RPM - Riva Pianeta Mixolgy, the special project dedicated to mixed drinking.  As a matter of fact, preparing grappa-based bold and feisty cocktails has become a very popular trend overseas nowadays.

Another rapidly-growing trend is that of craft beers that, at Expo Riva Hotel, translates into the Solobirra 2019 and Best Label competitions, respectively dedicated to the best product and to the best label.

In order to better respond to the hotel industry demand of true Italian spirit, authenticity, tradition, modernity but also know-how and creativity in the food&beverage sector, the fair has established its long-standing collaborations with business associations.

Giropizza 2018, the well-known competition organized by the Pizza & Pasta magazine, establishes itself as yet another notable event dedicated to fine food. The 43rd Expo Riva Hotel will in fact host this contest's finals with the privilege of awarding the best pizza maker of the year. The quality and trends of a dish that – while remaining democratic and within everyone's reach, rises to the challenges of the haute cuisine and has always led Italy in the world – will thus be enhanced.
